Operation Prairie Venture Approved for Murray County Economic Development Authority Loan

While work on securing funds for the construction of an assisted living/memory care facility continues, the Murray County Economic Development Authority (EDA) approved a $250,000 loan to Operation Prairie Venture during the Murray County Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024.

This local government support will be significant while OPV works with Senator Bill Weber and State Representative Joe Schomacker to obtain State Bonding funds to build the $5M facility.

Local newspaper, the Wheel Herald, notes that "City of Slayton Administrator Josh Malchow was on hand (at the commissioners meeting) to explain that the site is shovel ready and is reserved by the City for construction of such a facility." Once a project is finalized, the EDA loan will be disbursed to Operation Prairie Venture.
